Peter Mutize was born on the 26th of December in 1972 in Uzumbamarambapfungwe in Zimbabwe. He attended Nyadire Mission for both his primary and secondary education. A few years after he completed "O" level, he was employed at ZNNA and later moved to Gains borough Estate Agents were he worked a few years. He then moved on to work at Mutoko Rural Council. When he moved from Mutoko coming to Harare, He stayed and worked with Didane Masaya in 1998, whom had began stone sculpting as a career. Didane had no time for people who were lazy so Peter took advantage of that and began to learn from him. Day after day Peter would help out Didane in various ways either by washing unfinished sculptures, polishing or sanding half finished pieces. Peter Mutize has always been against the idea of copying other peoples' works as he always gives a strong advice to the young generation who will in future be the best artist, Copying other peoples work is very bad because it will show to the world that you are not an artist but someone who is stealing from others to earn a living of which that won't take you anywhere in future. And to those who have this true blessing from god, try by all means possible to use it and earn a living as it shall take you somewhere in life. I've got plenty of room for improvement as a lot needs to be done and as a growing artist
